I never knew about Mama Mary's till My daughter was hired. I fell in love with the food and warming welcome instantly!
They do things for the community as well. The children had a awesome Halloween party in the restaurant last Halloween 2017. I hope their establishment continues to grow and keep their A+ service achievement.
The front end staff along with the kitchen staff does their best overall as a team. I applaud you all. And I'll be back soon!
Thank you -

My daughter and I were in New Haven and in the mood for soul food. After reading reviews, which were are all over the place, we decided to take a chance on Mama Mary. I am glad we did. The staff was hospitable but not over bearing, it felt like eating at your favorite aunts house, attentive but you may have to raise your hand for a refill. I like the local neighborhood feel. It's located in store front between a barbershop, tax office and other businesses so it's easy to miss. Nothing fancy but nice spot Once inside. I appreciate the exposed brick and old hard wood floors. It gives a feel of "we've been here for a while" which I love. They food was great . The fish was fried just right, potato salad texture was perfect as were the black eyed peas and collards green . We will definitely be back

Mediocre food at best. Great service, but the our order was messed up and the chicken tasted off. The Mac and cheese was so..blah. Collard greens were good tho!

I don't know who said this food isn't good, but they need their taste buds evaluated. I was born and raised in Louisiana, and when I tell you the catfish is ON POINT?!? I ended up getting it for a catered lunch, and I should have ordered double the amount because people tore it up. I was asked at least 8 times where I got the food from! The baked chicken was also amazing--not dried out like other places, and seasoned well. Anytime I'm craving catfish and don't feel like frying it myself, this will be where I go. The staff is also very accommodating and patient--we had a last minute request and they got it done with no problem. I would definitely recommend this place if you're trying to eat seasoned food that makes you happy!
